If your eSIM profile shows "activating" instead of "activated", don't worry—this is expected in some cases. Here’s why it happens and what you need to do:
Why is my eSIM stuck on "activating"?
Once you scan the QR code and add the eSIM profile to your device, one of two things may happen:
-
The eSIM profile activates immediately on Wi-Fi
- A toggle switch appears next to the eSIM in your settings.
- Important: Keep the toggle switch off until you cross the border or arrive in the U.S.
-
The eSIM profile remains in "activating" mode
- This usually happens because the device is still in Canada and hasn’t connected to the U.S. network yet.
- The activation should complete automatically once you enter the U.S. and connect to a T-Mobile tower.
- Tip: Make sure airplane mode is turned off when you arrive so the phone can connect properly.
Steps to Ensure Smooth Activation
- Make sure your device has the latest software and carrier updates installed.
- Stay connected to Wi-Fi while adding the eSIM.
- If stuck on "activating," no further action is needed—just wait until you reach the U.S.
Your eSIM should activate as soon as it connects to a T-Mobile signal! 🚀
